Description

Remains of a shipwreck on Hampton Beach south of Great Boar's Head before May 1885. The large hotel in the background is the Ocean House, which burned on May 7, 1885. The small buildings at far left probably are the cottages of squatters. The Town sued the owners of these structures in the 1880s, asking the court to have the buildings, removed.
