Description

The Cogger Block buildings, 1923, with Buck's Variety Store at the corner of Depot Square. Buck's was owned by Charles P. Buck and went out of business in 1924. He also dealt in real estate from this location. This location later became the first home of Lamie's Restaurant when it was known as Lamie's Lunch. The entire block of buildings was destroyed by fire in 1943. It stood on the south corner of today's Depot/Marelli Square and Lafayette Road. The Odd Fellows building and clocktower can be seen in the distance. Between the Odd Fellows and Bucks appears to be a grocery store with a name that begins Coop. In 1921 Woods' Cash Market, owned by Leroy Woods and Harold G. Perkins was at this location, but it wasn't there in 1924. The small building to the right of Buck's is Fred Sanborn's barber shop. This building was later moved across Lafayette Road, where it remains to this day (2007.)
