Description

Nichols Poultry Farm, in the former Bradford Shoe building on Kershaw Avenue, c. 1950s. This plant was used by the Nichols chain of chicken-breeding and egg-hatching plants as a distribution center. Here the eggs were graded, sorted, and stored to await shipment to all parts of the U.S., Cuba, and Puerto Rico. In 1961 the building was bought by the Pearse Leather Company. It has since been home to numerous small businesses.
