Description
The 'Barnacle', a guest house perched on the south side of Great Boar's Head, was a popular destination around the turn of the 20th century. Owned at the time by Dr. George Everett Mitchell from Haverhill, Mass., this group of men formed an informal personal club they called the "Members of the Board." Mitchell is wearing the apron. The other men aren't specifically identified but include: John F. Dowsley from Boston, Thomas J. Barrett from Worcester, Dwight M. Clapp from Boston, George A. Maxfield from Holyoke, Mass., and John F. Dowsley, Jr. The photo was likely taken on 15 July 1905.
